Rules/Regulations

What the HDG provides:

  • Opportunity and space to grow personal vegetable, herb, and/or flower gardens
  • Access to Educational Resources and Classes
  • Approved pesticides, repellents, and other suggested “disincentives”

What the Gardener might need:

  • Their own tools, seeds, plants
  • Boards, stones, or other materials to mark their plot boundaries
  • Approved soil amendments (such as compost, manure, etc.)

Keep our Garden Healthy
  • Keep accurate planting rotation and outcome records for submittal to the Board at the end of each season.

Required Procedures:

  • Maintain current and accurate planting and rotation records. This will be helpful not only to the gardener, but to future gardeners in the same plot space.
  • Clean your plot at the end of the season. Take non-compostable plant material to the burn pile.
  • Maintain clean and clear pathways between all plots at all times.
  • Maintain clean garden plots; harvest at peak.
  • Keep your own garden and communal space neat and tidy.

Pests:

  • If you suspect a threat to your plants, immediately bring it to the attention of the Board by e-mailing us at: info@hdevgroup.org

Water:

o       Hoses are long enough to reach each plot. Please coil and hang the hose after each use.

NOTE: The water is not potable. It comes from the Verde River. Do not drink it!
